Cooking Classes & Events

The cooking classes at Zermatt Resort have been carefully developed to focus on proper technique and seasonal ingredients, with an emphasis on whole foods. Classes are taught by Leslie Smoot in three to four week series. Her specialty is in preparing fast, healthy meals for the busy family. Attendees will also get the experience of meeting Chef Hilary Herron, Zermatt Resorts Sous Chef as she brings a little touch of her style and taste to all of the classes.
Delicious Health Series

Our Delicious Health cooking series is a three or four week course, making delicious food that is not only good for the body, but simple to prepare so you have plenty of time and energy to enjoy an active life. Chef Hilary Herron and Leslie have worked together to create fabulous whole foods and meals with gourmet flavors, yet simple to prepare. The four week series will introduce the Delicious Health lifestyle by teaching everything one needs to know about preparing delicious, healthy foods, one meal at a time.

Recently I was at one of the BEST restaurants in New York City, FAMOUS for their breakfasts and guess what? I was hard pressed to find anything to properly fuel my body. Most of the options would have satisfied my taste-buds but left my body on empty. Learn how to make many delicious breakfast dishes that will power you up. See for yourself how good it tastes and how long it will sustain you. We will be serving a wonderful "breakfast" for lunch.

Food marketing is so powerful that moms with young children on average spend MORE money on fast food every year than on music, movies, books, and video games - COMBINED! The advertising is spun in such a way that we think we are making good choices but are we really? What is healthy food? What isn't? Where did the good old fashioned "real food" go? We will outline the "real food" concept and demonstrate some great recipes that can be made quickly and easily.

Leslie has had a passion for cooking and entertaining since she was a teenager, which began her love and desire to "dazzle" guests with impressive food and flavors.
Leslie Smoot has worked in the film industry for 20 years in the Art Department, Prop Department and as a Food Stylist. She is the host of Harvest-Time, a TV video series that teaches the television audience how to prepare and preserve whole foods. Leslie is currently working on a book, which outlines and teaches the reader her Whole Foods Program. Leslie is most well known for teaching in-home cooking classes in the Midway and Salt Lake City area, where the lessons of her Whole Foods Program come to life, in a live presentation.
